I need advice on my new plan?
I am a frreshman in college and unlike most college students here, I’ve actually been opposite and lost weight. I exercise everyday and try my best to eat healthy, and I also keep no junk food in my room. Next week I am starting “my plan” to allow myself one “treat” on Fridays and Saturdays, but was wondering some tips to help me stay motivated during the week to not give in and eat any. I want to do this to help me control, as well as reward myself for making it through the week. I also currently keep a food/exercise journal.
You should take your treats twice a week but not back to back as you are planning.
You need to “fool” your body that you are not starving it therefore by taking extra calories twice a week it will be fooled while you will prevent yourself from craving.
Also, if you treat yourself every 4 days or so, you are less likely to crave. It takes time to develop the habit so be patient. In the beginning you may have to cheat a little and that’s better to take a little nibble at your favorite food than crave it (which might even result in a binge eating) There is no short cuts – just discipline which you must exercise.
