I have a bicuspid aortic valve ….?
I have a bicuspid aortic valve and ascending aortic aneurysm measuring 4.0cm. I have mild AI. I'm also on my third pacemaker SSS, mild MVP, small ASD, SP ablation for WPW, and HX of recurrent pericarditis. During a recent visit to my cardiologist an AHA journal article was reviewed with me. "Clinical and pathophysiological implications of a bicuspid aortic valve August '02." Doctors in the article suggests the replacement of the aortic root in patients with BAV w / more aggressivly aortic dilatation (ie, 4-5 cm). My little sister has already had AV and graft replacement for the same condition (rapid expansion) does not Marfan. I'm 5'9 "and 133 pounds. The rest of the package my aorta 2.0 to 2.6cm. What is your opinion about this article. Otherwise my health is pretty good. I have plenty of exercise and rest and have a very healthy diet. I have an appointment at Stanford in two weeks and would like your opinion on this before I go. Thank you very much for your help
